Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The free plan is free forever and never asks for a card. You only pay if you decide to upgrade.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Premium runs as a Stripe subscription with no lock-in, and your access stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Email dmpofficial@dearmypast.com and we will cancel it for you.
Is my journal private?
Your entries are encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold, never used to train models, and never advertised against. Automated systems do read them — that is the only way a reflection or a Look Back can be written. The full detail is on our Trust page.
What happens to my writing if I stop paying?
Everything stays in your account, and you can export any month as Markdown at any time. Any Look Back that was generated while you were on Premium stays unlocked for good — you keep what you paid for. Nothing is deleted unless you delete your account yourself.
